I have sadly not been on here as much as I used to or would like to...and sadly that also accounts for the creation of more art as of late. School started up again and being in my last 2 years of my bachelor's I have had to shuffle priorities a bit. I plan to get a painting started soon though! Really soon But the past few months have been interesting, to say so without going into detail. I have actually had some success on Etsy these past few months, though! I have sold three of my works and am very proud of this I hope the new owners are happy, which I think to be true since I have heard no complaints. Anyway, however vacant I have been, I want all the people I watch to know I will see all their art and leave a comment when I can, I still deeply care about their art and wish to support them with positive words and appreciate all of your beautiful creations! So hopefully I will get caught up soon and get things back into order

    So, this will be new but I felt like doing a little "what-is-in-my-head" section that I might update on occasion. In general, I am more busy than I would like to be, because I would love to seem more active but being in college, life gets in the way. I have so many ideas that I have planned in my head at the moment and I figured I might share some here and there in a journal post, for those who may find it interesting. These might range in any art, from writing, art and music.

Art related:
    I want to try doing some classical figure paintings, or at least try to bring figures into my worlds or scenes on occasion. My current idea for this is perhaps a small painting of a heroic, classical figure such as Aeneas (which I just had to read for my Roman Civilization class). I may or may not get to this - I usually get distracted with some other idea before I get to something different such as this.

Book related:
    This one probably excites me the most right now, believe it or not. I won't share too much, because I plan to post a bit here on deviant as well, but it is a fantasy story the takes place in a nordic-type setting. I have been very interested in my Viking history class as of late, and the culture and myths have led to some interesting ideas. Also, my good creative outlet of minecraft has gone wonders into creating a world I have come to call Aldreheim. So, don't be surprised to see some writing pop up, perhaps...a histories of the Valri. That is coming soon perhaps!  

Music related:
    I'm still a total noob at the cello, but I found some good exercise books that should get me on my feet. I'm working on my articulations and dynamics right now, also slurs and other technical what-nots. Eventually I aim to work on different positions buuuuuuuut, I'll stick with the super basics right now, haha. Going from trumpet (which I had done for 8 years) to cello has been a change, but I have found myself more in love with the cello than I ever expected. So music wise, not much is happening that may be of any grand scale, since I am so new to this aspect of music.

    So there you might have it, that is my creative life in a nutshell right now as of this month. I may have only posted one painting this year, but these are all the other things I am working on or something up with. I plan to do some sketches this weekend for future painting ideas and perhaps begin the next painting. but to be honest, I have no clue what I will actually do next, which I why I posted this journal of what is going on in my mind, hahaha.

This year I plan to really work on my painting and art. I'm kicking it all off with a raised bar and am striving for higher quality work. And I'm going to start out the year by painting paintings for my close friends and family. I just feel its a good time to step things up a bit, and hopefully I can successfully do just that. So, this year is going to be a big year on the artistic side for me, as I am sure many other Deviants have made their New years resolution themselves. I'll be trying to step up the colors (In boldness and in composition), detail, compostion (More complex and such), ect, ect. So, hello to a new year full of chances for plenty of artistic development

So I've been experimenting as I usually do, and I have found myself working with the Neo-Impressionist style, pointillism.
Advantages to pointillism:
*Better detail
*More colors
*More dynamic (shading)
*Kind of unique
*Nothing is one solid color
*Looks pretty cool
I love the style, not many people seem to paint that way anymore (for their common style at least), so I'm hoping to bring it back with a new flare (maybe, we'll see how that goes) Personally I feel I should work towards pointilism more and see how it goes. So thats just what I'm going to do

Well, with school already a week deep in session I haven't had as much time as I'd love to devote to painting. But I've also realized I've been flying through all of these, rushing. Which I think my new school schedule may help with that. I've put out 7 paintings in under 2 weeks :/ I'm pretty sure I need to slow down and put a little more care into each of them. Time to focus more on composition, color, and overall effect. I'm not gonna rush anymore, I've got myself out there a little bit now so I guess now its time I got serious with it and test my limits and expand. But, its still for the passion, I just don't want to have meaningless paintings, I want each to be special, which requires more time and devotion. But yeah, I'm loving DeviantART and I'm glad I joined, only wish I did sooner. Thanks to everyone who made my first week and a half here really well and welcomed. I can't wait to see how things will go from here
