Description

Oil on Canvas, 2ft x 3ft. I've been dying to paint a desert scene, so I can paint intense winds, sand, and intense sun. I tried to limit my colors to only warm colors, mainly using orange, red, yellow, ochre, and pink. The travelers trading, on the other hand, are cool colors to make them stand out, treading through the intense heat and wind.

This piece is absolutely stunning. Every element that the artist desired is clearly portrayed in separate aspects. But the way each element harmoniously fuses with the others make this an even more appealing piece. The colors' intensity, the drama in the winds, the fire in the sky; all of these are superb.

In personal taste, my favorite part of this piece is what appears to be the sun; everything seems to stem from and flow into it, and that small, but powerful concentration of energy sends a very constricted and awesome feeling of might. In better words, I think of the power of a nuclear explosion crammed into a cherry bomb. This is the fiery core (no pun intended) that entitles this piece, as the artist puts it so well, Intensity.
