Embrace by Dunn95 Embrace by Dunn95
Oil on Canvas, 24 x 36 inches. I've been dying to do another one of these colorful and intense sunsets for ages so I finally managed to get one done :) I feel like I've gotten much better at landscapes and colors too. But anyway, the title of the painting is what sums up the general message and meaning behind the work. they are small, but there is a man and woman down on the edge of the cliff looking at the sunset. The man points outward with a cane, drawing attention to the sun. The woman lowers her parasol, which is symbolic of her acceptance of the scene before her. They embrace what is around them. The colors are meant to be intense and swirling to make the sky seem like it bursts with energy.

You have a good understanding of how color like how the red and the yellow comment each other and then the blue. You have a very good understanding of what you wanted to paint and how to go about it, your technique is very good and you used discreet brush stroke and you also used wet on wet, your painting has The type of overflowing wonder and awe to your painting, you did a great job keep up the good work.

The only thing I would suggest is that were the two people are standing the shadow should go to about where the bushes are and not past, it looks weird.
