Oil on Canvas, 18 x 24 inches. Inspired by J.M.W. Turner. Lately I've been really interested in his art and how he views the world and light, so I'm seeing it in a somewhat new way myself, I think. My goal was to let the colors loosen, flow, and burst. I wanted to make the light and color seem powerful and almost overwhelming. The ship is headed out to sea, but the sails are not down, they are simply adrift in the sea, letting its currents allow it to flow and the light to guide its way. That's somewhat what the concept is. Somewhat difficult to put into words, hence why I made a painting out of it.
I really, really love all the colors of this. I think you really unleashed the effect you wanted. It's absoutely beautiful! Almost like the sky is on fire
